Kirby's Augusta - For Whom the Phone Rings
These days everybody has a phone. Usually within quick reach.
It is hard for us to imagine that there was once a time when instant communication was not so easy.
But it was until a summer day in 1879 when all that changed.

Kirby's Augusta - Bob Daniel: The Man not the Road
Переглядів 2,4 тис.7 років тому
Most Augustans today think of Robert C. Daniel Jr. as the name on the parkway that fronts one of the city's main commercial districts. But the man, Robert C. "Bob" Daniel was more than that. Much more.

Augusta used to be a busy railroad town. For decades Union Station, facing Barrett Plaza between Eighth and Ninth streets, gave travelers their first view of the Garden City. But if those visitors had strolled a block east they would have seen the grittier aspect of train travel - the Georgia Railroad shops.

Have you ever wondered who thought it would be a good idea to run a street under a railroad overpass with the lowest of clearances and the narrowest of widths? Well, some long forgotten highway engineer did, and for 8 DECADES Augustans have been running their trucks into the Olive Road underpass.

The new thing for Augusta seems to be downtown distilleries and breweries. But it’s really an old thing. More than a century ago, you could step outside in the right section of town and smell the “most delightful” aroma of beer being brewed. You could smell Belle of Georgia.

As the 1900s dawned, this is the vision our civic leaders had for the place where government would be conducted. It was also the vision the city wanted to give visitors to our town when they first arrived. That’s right. When you left your train at the relatively new Union Station, this is what you would see rising across the way

At the beginning of each summer we celebrate the anniversary of D-Day, June 6, 1944, truly one of the remarkable feats of modern warfare. The allied invasion of Europe , led by Augusta favorite Gen. Dwight Eisenhower, is one of the great moments in human history. But D-Day’s success is made more remarkable by the fact that German leader Adolf Hitler and his forces should have known it was about...

I hate that im so late to the party on this video. Upon reading about this fire many years ago, i wasn't surprised as every major and secondary city in America remarkably had "great fires" that destroyed many historical buildings and sites that those we dare not mention wanted to see disappear. Of course no one was caught. The clue as to who, or what group, was involved is very simple to ascertain. Just simply look at the date the fire occurred. 322. Now, search the internet for the significance of this number (don't use Google; use Brave or Yandex as Google is CIA owned), and you will see so many secret societies use this date to cause chaos. Why? Genesis 3:22. They believe this verse shows that God is weak after all and that man can achieve God-like status. These groups are Luciferiens, and that is well established but not well publicized as they act in secrecy and excell at telling lies. Each mayor and sheriff in our fair city of Augusta has been a 33rd degree Freemason. To this, i'm sure they'll deny it, but i assure you that this is the case. Once beyond the 30th degree, Freemasons who've made it this far are introduced to page 321 of their leader Pike's infamous Dogma book that outlines this secret club's rules, history, and nefarious agenda. On this page, the reader will find that they follow Lucifer, not our God. Augusta, like every American city of any stature, is infested with them. They've infiltrated every political faction all the way down to local governments. I will step off of my soap box now, but i wanted to clear up the reason as to why the perpetrator was never found and as to what his agenda was on that very significant date to these very evil secret societies.

Without any hesitation Dorothy was murdered. I suspect it was over JFK. Only the night before she appeared for the last time on what's My line. She would not have overdosed on anything. The fact was she was in the way and possibly revealing what really happened. And for that she lost her life. Many people loved her. And we know better.

She should have known after finding the truth not to tell anyone until the truth was ready to be told. If these people could kill JFK, what made her think her life would be spared if she found the truth. Especially if it was powerful people. Marilyn Monroes death a few years earlier should have taught her that.

I was one one the first on the scene when this happened. I was stationed at Ft. Gordon at the time and I lived off 0:53 post with my wife just behind the airport and golf course on Damascus Road. I was coming back from the convenience store when this behemoth landed. I sat on my motorcycle just outside the fence for hours watching the melee unfold. And to top it off, my wife worked at the Augusta Chronicle at that time.

There is a great book called "Masters of Deceit" an epic novel of the monstrous plot behind the Kennedy assassination, written by A. Tarnavsky. I urge anyone who wants to learn more about the mysterious deaths of Dorothy Kilgallen, William PItzer, Jack Ruby, and countless others, and Johnson's involvement in the JFK assassination to read this book. It is an absolute eye-opener.

I discovered Dorothy and What’s My Line only a few months ago, and that cast of characters is without a doubt the most interesting group of people I’ve ever come across. Dorothy was light years ahead of her time. Everything she’s said and done seems modern and holds up extremely well in today’s world. I’ve changed my mind a dozen times between whether she was murdered or if she committed suicide. There are very strong arguments for both. Either way, she was an incredible person and is greatly missed

I remember in the 90s being in the Richmond County Honor Orchestra and putting on concerts there. I remember the string Christmas lights. The fountains. The brown bricks and the skylights. The hotdog place and the lady at Wards trying to get you to sign up for credit with free gifts. We still have some of that Christmas stuff from wards. My first pair of glasses was from lens crafters just outside of wards. As a kid the jb white box meant underwear and jeans but all great times.
